An effective teacher provides a well-managed, safe and orderly environment that is conducive to learning and encourages respect for all.  All of these components are a part of a postive learning environment consisting of a classroom management/structure and climate that support academic achievement.  Classroom management is based on good discipline, effective routines, smooth transitions and ownership of the environment.  Effective teachers implement good classroom management to establish order, engage students and elicit student cooperation.  Another aspect of classroom management is the structure of the classroom which involves physically orienting the classroom, preparing and organizing the materials and framing lessons in a logical, coherent manner.

There are many advantages to implementing technology in the classroom for elementary students and throughout all education levels. As the world becomes increasingly technologically advanced, it is more and more important that children are not intimidated by it. Not only does technology help teachers plan lessons, but it can also be very beneficial in helping students of all ages gain imperative knowledge.  As a teacher, I see the importance of technology and I am always looking for new ways to integrate it into the classroom.

Keeping the lines of communication open between parents/guardians and teachers is extremely important.  I like to actually speak to you one on one, whether that be on the phone or in person.  But I also know that this is not always possible so technology is an important communication tool in my class.  Email and text messages have become a big part of a teacher's way of communicating with a child's family.
